Case Studies

Leveraging the huge reach of existing brands with well-loved products to raise awareness of the problem of single-use plastics is the key to SeaHive’s efforts.

#1: Pakt Bags

The ultimate travel bag, the Pakt One, is the 2017 revival of Malcolm Fontier’s popular Getaway travel bag, which ceased production in 2012. Always made from animal-friendly and environmentally-responsible materials, the latest iteration of this innovative piece of luggage ups the environmental ante by going plastic-free for all its packaging.

The Pakt team pushed their entire supply chain beyond their comfort zone to help deliver the One with zero plastic packaging. The result is both beautiful and environmentally safe. Best of all, the suppliers all have a new perspective in which plastic packaging is now seen as an option rather than a given.

The new version of the bag was a collaboration with The Minimalists and launched via a crowdfunding campaign, which together, will put the plastic-free messaging in front of millions of people.
